Day #1 April, 3rd
Day #1
We were told by our English 99 instructor the first few days of class that we had to grow something we could later eat by the end of the quarter. I have never been a huge fan of vegetables, so I knew I wanted to do something different then the rest of the class. One afternoon, I was shopping with my sister and mom, and came a cross a kids strawberry experiment pack. It looked perfect for someone whose never grown a thing in their life, which is me! I decided to give it a try. It was only three dollars so if it didn't work it wasn't a big deal. When I got home I took apart the little package, and started reading the directions. It seemed almost too essay. All you had to do its add water to a little round compacted piece of dirt, add the seeds, and shut the lid. At that point I really didn't think it was gonna work. I planted the seeds on the 3rd of April, and ten days later it surprisingly started to sprout! I was very excited that it worked.:)
I never would of thought their would be so much excitement growing a plant. I've never been one to have a green thumb. Doing this assignment has really opened my eyes to the sense of accomplishment you can get with growing a plant. I know that once I can actually eat the strawberries, that I grew myself I'm really going to feel like I achieved something. It goes the same with my writing skills. I have never been a good writer, but when I do see my improvement, it boosts my confidence. Sometimes that all you need to succeed.
